Great start to a fabulous year!
Winter has arrived and already the kindergarten students have learned so much! The staff at Georgetown Kindergarten Center have worked hard teaching the children different things. The progress the students have made since the first day of school is incredible! The students are learning to read more sight words. We continue to work on writing sentences using the sound and word skills. While reading new books, we are learning more about characters, setting, main idea, sequence, as well as the jobs of authors and illustrators.
In math, students are continuing to learn about naming and describing two and three dimensional shapes. They are learning how to make 5’s and 10’s out of the tens frame. Students have learned how to count to 50 forward and backward.
As a reminder to all parents, please make sure you are at the bus stop location when you child is dropped off after school. If no one is at the bus stop at the time of drop off the student will be brought back to the school.
Help us help your child, GROW, KNOW and CREATE to be GREAT!
PS. If the temperatures are not below freezing, the students go outside for recess. Please send children to school with coats, hats and gloves as needed.
